<레프트21> 대책위

국제 항의 성명서

 

 

 

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned to hear the news of the arrest and court ruling that fined six supporters (Jo Ik-jin, Kim Deuk-yeong, Kim Hyeong-hwan, Kim Ji-tae, Kim Mun-ju, Shin Myeong-hui) of Left21, a registered anti-capitalist paper in South Korea, for selling a registered paper in street. The charge that they violated the public gathering and assembly act is ludicrous. This is clearly a concerted effort of the police, prosecutors, and the court to repress the freedom of press and democracy. We strongly condemn the Lee Myung Bak government¹s repression against democracy. We strongly demand that the charge and the fine against the six Left21 support be dropped immediately. We intend to publicise this outrage to the working people in the world to build up a chorus of voices demanding it comes to an end.

 

우리는 합법적으로 등록된 반자본주의 신문 <레프트21>을 거리에서 판매한 지지자 6명(조익진, 김득영, 김형환, 김지태, 김문주, 신명희)이 연행되고 벌금형 선고를 받았다는 소식에 깊은 우려를 표한다. 이들의 행위가 집시법 위반이라는 혐의는 황당한 주장이다. 이는 분명히 언론의 자유와 민주주의를 탄압하려는 경찰, 검찰, 법원의 조직된 시도다.

우리는 민주주의를 탄압하는 이명박 정부를 강력하게 규탄한다. 우리는 <레프트21> 지지자 6명에 대한 혐의와 벌금형을 즉각 취소할 것을 강력하게 요구한다.

우리는 이 부당한 사건을 전 세계 민중에게 알려 사건의 종결을 요규하는 항의를 건설할 것이다.
